NASCAR Issues $ 50,000 Fines for Several Athletes

Even though there had not been a single race for a whole week before, NASCAR issued two fines for $ 50,000. One of them concerns the use of substances prohibited by the rules and the second concerns violations of the rules of conduct. Despite the objectivity of the accusations, not all athletes agreed with this state of affairs.
Mike Harmon Racing, who took part in the Rockingham Speedway charity ride, received a 50 thousand fine, allegedly for bypassing the rules. According to the racer himself, NASCAR imposed sanctions against MHR for using car 74, prohibited by the event’s regulations. “This was not a deliberate attempt to circumvent the rules … In more than four decades of working in motorsport, I am appalled by the penalties imposed on our team.” MHR has already filed an appeal and will be appealing NASCAR’s decision.
At the same time, athlete Caesar Bacarella also received a fine but for the use of prohibited substances. The rider’s team said this was done unknowingly as the ingredient was part of a training supplement. Nevertheless, the team fully admitted their guilt. And according to Tommy Joe Martins, Caesar has already fulfilled all NASCAR requirements and entered the Road to Recovery program.
One way or another, both athletes are temporarily suspended from participation in NASCAR until the situation is clarified.
